Dear Kevin,
Welcome to the sixth edition of the Florida Synthetics Preferred Customer
Newsletter! As your Independent Amsoil Dealer, I'm here to help you choose
Amsoil products that meet your needs and to make you aware of the latest and
greatest coming out of AMSOIL, Inc. If you'd prefer not to receive this
newsletter (about once a month), hit the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the
email.
The Preferred Customer program is Amsoil's wholesale buying club. Members pay
$20 per year and can buy unlimited quantities of Amsoil products at dealer
wholesale cost. The only limitation is you can't resell it, and you don't earn
commissions on your purchases. This newsletter is for Preferred Customers who
came to Florida Synthetics first for their Amsoil needs. It is also open to
those expressing an interest in Amsoil's Preferred Customer program (and
I hope you'll go ahead and sign up.)

Introduces an Improved Performance Improver |
 |
|
P.I. stands for Performance Improver. There are a lot of products on the market
that claim to improve performance, but few that actually deliver. Amsoil P.I.
delivers on the promise by cleaning your vehicle's fuel system of deposits that
are the normal result of fuel combustion. These fuel deposits degrade engine
performance in the following ways:
-
Lost fuel economy
-
Lost power and poor throttle response
-
Failed emission tests
-
Poor drivability - surging, hesitation, stalling, rough idle
-
Engine knocking (pinging) and rap
-
Difficult starts
These deposits start accumulating from the first tank of gas. Regular use of
P.I. prevents deposits from forming in the first place, and a larger dose can
clean up gunk and deposits that have built up over time.
Treat one full tank of gas every 4,000 miles or 100 hours of service (note this
is a change from the previous formula). One bottle treats 20 gallons of gas. Do
not treat and run more than 40 gallons of gas per treatment. P.I. helps pass
emissions tests. Treat gas, run that tank and fill up again prior to test. P.I.
is safe for use with catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, oxygenated gas and
10% ethanol blended gas. Not recommended for two cycle engines.

Introduces New 0W-20 (ASM) |
 |
|
Amsoil has introduced a new 0W-20 synthetic motor oil (ASM). More and more auto
manufacturers are calling for a 20-weight oil. ASM is recommended for Honda,
Acura, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Ford and all other applications where SAE 0W-20
or 5W-20 is required. ASM has the same drain interval recommendation as AMSOIL
5W-30 (ASL) and 10W- 30 (ATM), which is 25,000 miles or one year, whichever
comes first under normal operation or 15,000 miles or one year, which ever
comes first under severe service. Remember to use an AMSOIL Absolute Efficiency
Oil Filter to match the filter performance with the oil and enable you to enjoy
a 12- month or 25000 mile change interval.
While AMSOIL 0W-20 is unmatched by competitive oils on the market, AMSOIL does
not recommend using 0W-20 where 30 grade oils are recommended by the vehicle
manufacturer. 0W-20 is a lower viscosity oil that provides fuel economy
benefits. Viscosity is a critical feature of lubrication. The OEMs have
determined in which vehicles a lower viscosity oil is the optimal choice, and
where either a 0W-20 or 5W- 20 oil is recommended.
Sometimes motorists are concerned about using a low viscosity oil. AMSOIL,
however, engineered ASM specifically for maximum viscosity protection. ASM is
shear stable. It will not break down, and it contains high quality additives to
provide extra protection.

| My Amsoil
Experience - Part 4 |
 |
|
The fourth vehicle in the Florida Synthetics fleet is a 1999 Dodge Durango. It a
5.2L V8 with 115,000 miles on the clock. I bought it two years ago as a tow
vehicle for my Spec Miata racecar that I was racing in SCCA regional
competition. I wanted something that could tow a car trailer and also keep my
gear dry and protected at the track. An SUV with a V8 was just the ticket. Even
though the engine has quite a few miles on it, it doesn't burn a drop of oil. I
switched it to Amsoil ASL 5W-30 soon after I bought it, at about 105,000 miles.
The smoothness of the engine with the ASL is amazing. I only put about 7500
miles per year on this vehicle, so I change the oil every 12 months, along with
an EaO filter. The freedom from worrying about oil changes every 3 or 4 months
is liberating and allows me to pay attention to other things to maintain this
higher-mileage vehicle. I also use an EaA air filter, after removing the
K&N filter the previous owner had installed. Now that I'm taking a break
from racing, I'll probably pass this vehicle along to the next owner, and I
hope that person will continue using Amsoil in it, as I think this engine will
go another 100,000 miles with it.

Got a scooter? New AMSOIL 10W-40 Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil
is recommended for air- and water-cooled four-stroke motorized scooter engines
calling for a 10W-40 viscosity, as well as transmissions and gear boxes calling
for a 10W-40 motor oil or an SAE 80W-90 or 90 GL-1 gear lubricant, including
Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Vespa, Aprilia, Piaggio, Benelli, Vento,
Kymco, Tank and TGB. It is recommended for the longest drain interval
recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
AMSOIL now offers TRICO wiper blades. As of April 1, AMSOIL is no longer
carrying BOSCH wiper blades.
TRICO, The Tri-Continental Corporation, was founded in 1917 to provide drivers
with better visibility, introducing the first manually operated windshield
wiper. Today, TRICO is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wiper
products and produces nearly one million wiper blades every week.
TRICO provides wiper systems for numerous original equipment manufacturers
(OEMs), including Ford, GM, Chrysler and Hyundai. In fact, TRICO wiper products
are utilized on nearly 7 out of 10 new vehicles built in North America. AMSOIL
now offers five different lines of TRICO wiper blades: Exact Fit, NeoForm,
Oktane, Winter and Classic.
