Efficiency Filters now for Motorcycles |
 |
|
AMSOIL INC. revolutionized the filtration industry with its introduction of
AMSOIL Ea Air and Ea Oil Filters. For the first time exclusive nanofiber
technology – the same technology used in the Abrams M1 tank and other heavy
duty applications – was made available for automotive applications. Now, AMSOIL
has made this outstanding new technology available for motorcycles.
Ea Motorcycle Oil Filters feature a specially constructed silicone
anti-drainback valve and a nitrile sealing gasket to go along with the
full-synthetic Ea nanofiber media. The anti-drainback valve provides excellent
protection during startup and remains flexible in all temperatures, and the
nitrile sealing gasket resists chemical breakdown, providing excellent
durability and ensuring long filter life. AMSOIL Ea Motorcycle Oil Filters are
fluted for easy removal from the motorcycle and are available in a
chrome-plated alternative to the normal black filters.

Changes for Heavy Duty Diesels |
 |
Diesel fuel, like diesel engines, is changing to meet emission and other
environmental requirements. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has
introduced major changes in diesel fuel for 2007, including Ultra Low
Sulfur Diesel fuel (ULSD), bringing the sulfur content to 15 ppm, a staggering
drop from the current requirement of 500 ppm. Lower sulfur means lower
lubricity, the property that controls wear in the fuel injectors and fuel pump.
Once the new fuel starts hitting the pumps around the country starting very
soon, diesel engines will start having issues related to the lower lubricity of
the ULSD fuel. The amazing thing is that almost nobody is really aware of this!
Furthermore, new emission regulations have brought on engine modifications such
as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), causing rapid TBN depletion due to acid
formation and higher levels of soot loading in the oil. Higher soot and
particulate content has resulted in the introduction of diesel particulate
filters, but they clog easily, lowering engine efficiency. All of these changes
mean that new diesel fuel needs quality fuel additives to keep equipment
operating efficiently and prevent malfunction. AMSOIL has made some changes to
its line of fuel additives. The changes reflect the new diesel fuel regulations
and incorporate the latest in fuel additive technology. Amsoil Diesel
Concentrate (ADF) should be used with every tank of fuel, to replace the
lubricity lost by removing the sulfur from the fuel. It reduces cylinder wear,
lubricates injectors and fuel pumps, minimizes soot loading, protects against
water contamination, improves fuel economy and restores horsepower. I know that
sounds like a lot of lofty claims for a fuel additive, but Amsoil has done the
testing and the results are real. For much more detail, see the September 2006
issue of Action News, the official Amsoil monthly magazine (if you're a
preferred customer, you get it in the mail each month).
On the oil side, there are also changes. Starting in 2007 heavy duty diesel
engines, API grade CJ-4 is required. This new oil specification is aimed at
further reducing emissions from heavy duty diesels (and it's not far down the
road for light duty diesels). Amsoil has conducted 12.5 million miles of
testing of its new CJ-4 oil (5W-40, DEO). The 2007 engine regulations place
heavier demands than ever on engine oils. Without going into all the gory
technical details (see the October Action News if you're into that kind of
thing) DEO is a revolutionary new oil that meets all the new API CJ-4
requirements and allows for extended drain intervals in heavy duty diesels with
oil testing.
AMSOIL offers four premium quality synthetic diesel oils for 2006 and earlier
EGR equipped and non- EGR equipped diesel vehicles. AMSOIL Synthetic 15W- 40
Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil (AME), Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy
Duty Diesel Oil (HDD), Synthetic 10W-30/SAE 30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (ACD) and
Synthetic Blend 15W-40 Gasoline and Diesel Oil (PCO) surpass the most stringent
diesel oil specifications for 2006 and earlier diesel engines, including API
CI-4 PLUS.
These oils offer superior protection and performance for extended drain
intervals in non-EGR equipped engines, and drain intervals may be extended by
oil analysis in pre-2007 EGR-equipped engines.
For post-2007 engines DEO 5W-40 is the only choice. You should not run a CI-4+
or earlier oil in a 2007+ heavy duty diesel engine. You can use
DEO in 2006 and earlier engines, with great results. Extended drain intervals
are possible, but AMSOIL recommends you do used oil analysis to determine the
interval for your rig. For pre-2007 HD diesels, I still recommend AME or HDD.

| Bosch, we
haven't forgot you! |
 |
|
Yes, Amsoil carries the entire line of Bosch plugs, plug wires, and wiper
blades. Next time you're ordering oil, think about whether it's also time to
replace these items that are so easy for forget. I know I never remember to
replace my wiper blades until that first big rain of the summer when I realise
I can't see a darn thing.
When you look up your oils and filters with the
Online Application Guide it will also give you the Bosch parts that fit
your vehicle.

induction systems produced by K&N, Injen, S&B, Green, AIRAID, AFE,
TrueFlow and more. AMSOIL Ea Air Induction Filters offer better efficiency,
excellent airflow and are cleanable. Don't let an oiled gauze filter continue to
let dirt into your engine just for a few horsepower!
There is a better way! Keep the horsepower and clean the intake air properly!
